Take advantage of the opportunity to learn about indirect costs, how they are captured in the accounting system, and various methods of calculating indirect cost rates. You'll review several examples of indirect cost rate calculations and discuss strategies based on certain construction industries. Discussion will center on multiple scenarios and how different rate calculations impact estimates, contracts, and the bottom line as well as learn considerations for why one contractor may choose to capture costs differently than another contractor.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Understand the importance of capturing indirect costs consistently.
- Determine appropriate and reasonable methods of capturing indirect costs and developing indirect cost rates.
- Evaluate the impact of indirect costs and rates on estimates.
