Please join the CFMA of MA for an interactive discussion with three group captive industry leaders.  The panel will provide a group captive market update, discuss current industry results and outlook, trends and underwriting considerations, and key challenges contractors are facing and why group captives are so attractive.

Featuring Adam McGuckin of Zurich, Greg Deems of Rogers Gray, and Mike Bolt of ENE Systems.

 

Adam McGuckin is the Vice President and Underwriting Manager within Zurich North America’s Group Captives strategic business unit. He has been at Zurich North America for his entire 17+ year professional career, all within the Group Captives strategic business unit. In his current role, he leads an underwriting team with total GWP responsibility of over $600M. He manages and develops across many captive consultants, new captive startups, existing/mature captives, captives going to market, and builds new captives for members in unique, emerging industries/focuses. He is also involved in various projects and initiatives at the national and global levels.

Adam holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Organizational Leadership from Northern Illinois University and a Bachelor’s degree in finance and insurance from Illinois State University. He also holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associated in Risk Management (ARM) designations.

 

Mike Bolt is an accomplished Chief Financial Officer of ENE Systems with extensive experience in driving financial strategies and improving organizational efficiency. Throughout his career, both as a consultant and as a manager Mike has demonstrated a unique ability to facilitate change, improve productivity, and guide companies through financial complexities. With a focus on results-driven leadership, Mike helps organizations enhance their financial management practices, creating value and ensuring long-term sustainability.

As a panel participant, Mike brings an insightful perspective on the role of captive insurance in modern business strategies, offering valuable knowledge for Finance Managers considering captive models to manage risk and optimize financial performance.

 

Greg Deems is a senior partner with The Baldwin Group and Rogers Gray. He has been in the industry for over 14 years working with middle market companies, primarily in the construction industry. He spends a majority of his time working to help client understand alternative strategies to enhance their risk management strategies. Greg has a background in fleet safety having worked for a company that teaches hands on crash prevention training, and was also licensed as a race car driver for several years, before entering the insurance industry. The Baldwin Group is a leader in data analytics and a holistic approach to risk management that tries to understand the total picture of risk for their clients as they take on their advisory roles.
