Please join CFMA of MA for an interactive conversation with Scott Zolak, sports analyst and former NFL quarterback for the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins. Scott will discuss his background and rise to the NFL, traits of the best teams and coaches along the way, and transition from the NFL to media personality. We are also pleased to announce our 2018 Scholarship Award recipients at this event.

Presented by

Scott Zolak
Sports Analyst

Scott Zolak is a former NFL quarterback for the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.  Zolak attended the University of Maryland, and was the starting quarterback in his senior season.  Upon graduation, he entered the 1991 NFL draft, where he was selected by the New England Patriots with the 84th overall pick in the fourth round.  Zolak played eight seasons for the New England Patriots.  He spent the majority of his time in New England as a back-up quarterback behind Drew Bledsoe.  Following the 1998 season, he signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins.  Zolak retired after one season with the Dolphins, playing in a total of 55 games for the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins over a nine year career.

After retiring from the NFL, Zolak began his second career as a sports broadcaster.  He broke into radio on the morning slot of Rhode Island’s sports station, the Score.  He became a guest host for The Big Show on WEEI in Boston, until securing a permanent co-host position on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s midday show Gresh & Zolak.  The show is now called the Zolak & Bertrand show as Marc “the Beetle” Bertrand is now his co-host.  In addition to his role on The Sports Hub, Zolak serves as color analyst for the Patriots radio broadcasts alongside Bob Socci after serving as the shows sideline reporter during the 2011 season.  Zolak has become known for his energetic personality and creative phrasing in role as a color commentator for the Patriots, and during his radio show.  His radio call of the Patriots game-winning touchdown against the Saints in 2013 went viral nationally.

Zolak lives in the Boston area with his wife, Amy, and their three children, Hadley, Samantha and Brody.
